On Tuesday, March 11, the Policy Evaluation Research Institute (PERI) held public AI policy education classes utilizing the newly launched “Fiscal Game” at Gyeongbuk National University High School and Daegu International High School.

The public classes were held at 10:30 a.m. for second-year students at Gyeongbuk National University High School and at 1:20 p.m. for third-year students at Daegu International High School. Attendees included Eun-hee Kang, Superintendent of the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education; Il-ho Yoo, former Deputy Prime Minister and current Chairman of the Regulatory Reform Committee; Chong-Bum An, President of PERI.

After the class, students participated in a Q&A session with former Deputy Prime Minister Il-ho Yoo, asking questions about real-world policy decisions and current economic issues. This provided a valuable opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-life policymaking and encouraged thoughtful discussion.”

Superintendent Eun-hee Kang expressed high hopes for the program, stating:
“This first public class using the ‘Fiscal Game’ allowed students to experience real policymaking processes. It will help them better understand government economic policies and grow into thoughtful, democratic citizens with strong critical thinking skills.”

Officially released on March 4, the “Fiscal Game” was developed by PERI as an educational simulation that allows users to set national goals and select policy tools, fostering a deeper understanding of sustainable fiscal management.

PERI expects that the “Fiscal Game” will help students analyze the impact of economic policies and gain practical insights, ultimately empowering them to participate more actively in future policy discussions.
